Season’s Greetings from your Chairman!

It is with the greatest pleasure that I am able to convey to you all the compliments of the yuletide season, and once again thank you for the tremendous efforts you made in the noble cause of entertainment. We really pulled it off, and there wasn’t a dud among us! ( If you don’t count my terrible timing on the sound effects desk.) So, give yourselves a pat on the back, a rub on the belly and a slap in the teeth.

The actors were magnificent, the scenery and props beautiful, the music and singing spot on. The stage and curtains were perfectly managed and coordinated, the lighting and sound was immaculate, and the direction was perfect. I hope the Prompt was the least busy person on performance night, but I have yet to receive a report. I know things were getting heated at my end of the hall, with the microphone situation causing the teckies all sorts of bother. But nobody panicked, and you were all heard perfectly, which will make the video so much clearer.

Ronnie is currently editing it together and some time in the new year we will have a private showing for cast and crew. We’ll keep you posted. And the DVD should be available for sale to all our members and the public sometime in January when we also plan to host a public screening.

Make-up and costumes were the best I have ever seen, as you may judge if you look at the photographs David Nash and lovely Ilona has put up. She did a marvellous job managing the PR as well as so much else.

I am particularly proud of my Dalek, which Trevor helped me with. Unfortunately, we had to exterminate him on Saturday, as we couldn’t get him down the stairs of the Island Hall basement. May he rest in pieces.

People are still complimenting me on a brilliant show. One of our best! And I have all of you to thank for that.

Words are but pennies when they are ill spent. Thank you for turning mine into gold!

With the greatest affection and respect,

Lee Flewitt

Chair. ATG.
