2023: the year entertainment claims back the centre stage
After two years of limited entertainment, when Covid took over the stage, the Alderney Theatre Group is determined that year 2023 will be known as the year when entertainment was firmly back in the limelight.
The calendar of forthcoming events staged or hosted by the Alderney Theatre Group has kicked off with three consecutive nights of hilarious theatre suppers under the intriguing title “ WHAT THE ACTUAL….?. I’M SORRY, PARDON, WHAT”….. a series of comedy sketches read and performed by Sarah Simpkins, Charlotte Newton, Lee Flewitt and Lucie Woodnutt. The venues were the Georgian (30& 31 March) and the Blonde Hedgehog (1 April).

PURE, MIND-BENDING MAGIC! Tuesday 2 May – in the Island Hall
This is a big coup for the Alderney Theatre Group: one of Britain’s top magicians, Mark Shortland, will bring pure magic to the Island Hall – an exciting evening for Alderney’s residents and visitors.
Mark Shortland, a Member of the Inner Magic Circle, is a multi-award-winning magician with 12 National awards including The British Magical Grand Prix Champion, The International Brotherhood of Magicians Stage Magician of the Year and The Magic Circle ‘The Carlton Award’ for comedy magic.
His fun packed performances engage audiences with a mixture of illusion, audience participation and a “unique brand of comedy” that are all blended with an individual style of magic and suggestion, creating an act that the edge of your seat was made for.
