FABARET HITS ALL THE RIGHT NOTES

Cabaret shows are very special, extremely versatile and highly entertaining . It’s very rare and absolutely fantastic that the Alderney Theatre Group managed to lure Eve Ferret, the undisputed Queen of Old Time Cabaret to Alderney, treating the audience to West End entertainment at its very best.

FABARET is Eve Ferret’s latest cabaret show which she performs  with her  long-term partner in crime Simon Wallace, an acclaimed pianist, composer and producer.

With her vast and diverse repertoire of songs and balades – a mix of oirignal songs, stories and completely unexpected choice of material –  she took the audience down her memory lane of an exciting life – switching from jazz to blues, rock and pop.  As one critic quite rightly pointed out “Her performances combine a rollicking (yet tender) voice with bursts of surreal, woke-free humour and infectious joie de vivre, an intoxicating mix of chaos and nostalgia.”

And some of Eve’s songs were supported by unusual props :   “Mangetout” prompted her to launch a bag of mangetout beans at the unsuspecting audience,  there was more to the “Peignoir” than meets the eye – and if a star of her calibre asks you to kiss her leg – you just do it!

Eve Ferret was hilarious, naughty and highly engaging, and with a standing ovation at the end of the show, Eve and Simon left Alderney on a high note hoping to return in the near future.
