At the Alderney Theatre Group’s AGM on Friday night 11 April, Chairman Lee Flewitt announced his decision to step down. He has been Chairman since 2022 and also back in 1995 when he brought the famous BBC Clothes Show to Alderney to produce “Cinderella”.

Lee has passed the baton on to Charlotte Newton, the newly elected Chairman who was welcomed with a standing ovation.
With some 50 years experience of TV and theatre direction – as well as acting, writing, directing and producing plays on stage and several spectacular open air productions at different stunning locations across the island – Charlotte is a great asset to the Alderney Theatre Group. And, whilst living and working in the UK, Charlotte also owned a TV production company making programmes worldwide for the BBC & National Geographic.

“I am really excited to be at the helm as we have a very busy programme planned for this year,… and I already have a few ideas up my sleeve for 2026 !”, said Charlotte
